What areas does Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles deliver and operate in Melbourne and Victoria?

We deliver jumping castles all over Melbourne and some parts of regional Victoria out of our base in Wallan. This includes setup, instruction on use, and pick-up.

Jolly Jacks offer:

  • FREE Delivery in Wallan
  • FREE Delivery throughout the Mitchell Shire. This includes the townships of Beveridge, Broadford, Heathcote Junction, Kilmore, Puckapunyal, Pyalong, Seymour, Tallarook, Tooborac, Wallan and Wandong.

How far in advance must I book a jumping castle or other party hire supplies?

Of course the sooner you book the more likely we will have availability on your chosen date and of your chosen jumping castle. Remember, there are no deposits and no cancellation fees, so best you book the jumping castle or other party hire supplies early. This then needs to be confirmed by Jolly Jacks.

It is especially important to book early during high peak periods, such as summer time and school holidays.

Having said this, there might always be availability on the dates you are seeking, even last minute. So feel free to always get in touch and check if there are any jumping castles available, movie pop corn machines, or tables and chairs.

Note: Mixed lolly bars can always be arranged, as they are sourced and based on each individual booking.

How much does it cost to book a jumping castle?

Please note that all prices are shown on our website. Each jumping castle has slightly different prices, which also then varies depending on length of booking. See our Jumping Castles page and our party supplies page for more specific information on booking prices.

However it is important to also note that Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles offer a number of special deals and prices, including:

  • Special prices for group and corporate jumping castle bookings in Melbourne and Victoria, such as schools, child care centres, fetes, shopping centres, corporate/companies
  • Special prices for long term jumping castle bookings of 3 days or more in Melbourne and Victoria
  • Special prices for weekday jumping castle hire in Melbourne and Victoria
  • Regular Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles special promotions

What do these prices include?

All jumping castle bookings include FREE delivery (if applicable), blower, extension lead, circuit breaker, pegs, ground sheet and safety mat, as well as initial jumping castle setup, inflation, and collection. If the jumping castle will be placed indoors or on hard surface, we will also provide additional weights needed to secure and hold the castle in place and no extra charge.

With the pop corn machine, initial price includes everything you need for 100 servings, such as oil, salt, butter flavour, corn kernels & original movie cartons. There is an additional charge for extra popcorn servings.

How do I pay for the jumping castle?

You can pay by cash on the day of delivery. Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles will issue a receipt on the spot. Alternatively, you can pay by credit card, Paypal or Australian bank transfer (BPay) 7 days prior to the event.

Is there a deposit I must pay for the jumping castle or other party supply?

No, there is no deposit to pay when booking a jumping castle. However, Jolly Jacks will need to confirm the booking prior to the da

What if I need to cancel my jumping castle booking?

There are no cancellation fees at Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles. We understand that circumstances can easily and quickly change, and so we want to be as flexible as possible.

Thus, you can cancel at any stage prior to the day of the event. We do however request that you try to provide us with as much notice as possible. If you are cancelling due to weather conditions, we can work together to reschedule for another more suitable day at no extra cost (and subject to availability).

Once we deliver the jumping castle (or other party supply), you cannot cancel.

How long can I hire a jumping castle for?

Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles may be hired for 4 hours, 7 hours or overnight. Jumping castles can also be hired long term, and for as many multiple days as needed – in fact special discounted prices are available for long term and weekday jumping castle hire.

Can I extend the rental time of the jumping castle on the day?

Yes, you can extend the jumping castle booking time for a small additional charge, however you will need to call Jolly Jacks Jumping Castle to verify, as it is be subject to availability

Can the jumping castle be placed on an angle or slope?

Ideally the surface should be flat. If it is a very slight slope then it should be OK. But it is best that this is discussed prior to the booking or made clear during the booking process. Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles will then call you to discuss everything in more detail, and can even visit to double check everything is OK.

Surface, Location & Weather Conditions

What preparation must I do before the jumping castle arrives?

There are three simple things to remember:

  • It is very important that the surface where the jumping castle will be placed is flat and clean, i.e. has no objects (sharp or not sharp)
  • The area should be completely clear of overhanging trees, clotheslines, power lines or any other objects
  • Access to 240 V power – if it will be in a area with no power, then a generator can be supplied (subject to additional charge).

How do I know if the jumping castle will fit in my area?

Each available jumping castle specifies its dimensions, as well as what area is needed. Please take a look at our jumping castle page for more exact detail.

Safety standards require that an additional 1 metre of space is needed around all parts of the jumping castle. So if the castle is 4 x 4 x 4, then you need 5 x 5 x 5 space.

What surface can the jumping castle be placed on?

Our castles can be set up on a variety of surfaces, both outdoor and indoor. This includes grass, concrete, paving, asphalt and even a combination of all these. It is important that the surface is flat and clean, i.e. has no objects (sharp or not sharp), as this could damage the castle and ruin the event.

When making your booking, you will be requested to specify the surface, so we know what special equipment and supplies will be needed.

On grass type surfaces, we peg the jumping castle down. On harder surfacers we utilise weights to hold it down.

Can I move the jumping castle after it has been set-up?

The jumping castle SHOULD NOT be moved by anyone other than an employee of Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles.

Upon delivery, the jumping castle will be set-up with your approval. Once you are happy with the area selected, pegs or weights will be used to secure the castle. After this, it should not be moved.

Can I organise the jumping castle in a park pr public area?

Yes of course. However it is your responsibility to ensure that you have all the correct permission/approvals from the local council or parks authority.

The surface must be clear of any objects or obstructions prior to castle arrival & set up. The area should also be completely clear of overhanging trees, power lines or any other objects.

A Generator can be supplied if electricity is unavailable (additional charges may apply).

What if it’s raining and/or high winds on the day of the party/event?

On the morning of the event, if it is raining and/or high winds in your area (of around 30 km an hour or stronger), Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles will call you to discuss the situation and verify if it should go ahead or if it should be postponed to another day. If conditions are extreme, the booking will be cancelled/postponed. Usually light rain and wind is fine, as the jumping castles can handle.

Of course we all know that Melbourne’s weather is quite volatile and can change very quickly. So should the weather turn bad during the party, we are always on standby to receive your call and offer any support and advice. If rain and wind gets heavy, children should be stopped from using the jumping castle, and an adult should turn the power of and disconnect the cord.

Is OK to use the jumping castle if it’s a very hot day?

All the jumping castles have covers that help block direct sunlight and provide some shaded area, so it is perfectly fine to use on hot days outdoors. You can also set up your own added shaded area over or close to the jumping castle, such as a tarp.

On extremely hot days, any surface on the inflatable exposed to the sun may get hot. So it is always best that children have added protection from the surface heat by wearing clothing such as sock. Of course, when playing outside, children should always be sun smart, and slip, slop, slap!

If days are extremely hot, it is also always best to shorten children’s playing time on the jumping castle, allowing them to take a break, recuperate and keep hydrated as much as possible.

Preparations & Safety

What must I provide when hiring a jumping castle?

Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles supply all the equipment you will need for the castle, including air blower, extension lead, circuit breaker, pegs/weights, ground sheet and safety mat.

All you need to provide a 240 volt power outlet.

How long does it normally take to set up/inflate and deflate/pack up the jumping castle?

First of all, please note that Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles will deliver and help set up the jumping castle, as well as pack it up when ready to pick up. If it stays at your place overnight, the power should be turned off and the cord unplugged, therefore the jumping castle will deflate. We will instruct you on what should be done once your booking is made and we deliver the jumping castle.

Generally, the jumping castles take approx 15 – 30 minutes to set up and 15 – 30 minutes to pack up.

Using the jumping castle – how does the jumping castle stay inflated during use?

The blower (provided by Jolly Jacks) must remain on power the entire time the jumping castle is in use. The blower must be within 25 metres of an electrical outlet.

If you plan to set the jumping castle in area with no electrical power, then a generator must be supplied (subject to additional fee). This must be arranged many days prior to the event.

How many children can use the jumping castle at any given time?

Capacity should really be judged accordingly, using common sense and logic. Jumping castles should never be overfilled, and children of great age gap difference should not use it at the same time. Jolly Jacks Jumping Castle staff will advise you of the safe number of children after set up.

While, children’s sizes vary greatly, the following is helpful in most circumstances:
Ages 6 & under: 8-10 children
Ages 7-12: 6-8 children

Our jumping castles should not be used extensively by older children or adults.

Should the jumping castle be supervised?

Absolutely yes. When children are using the jumping castle, it should be supervised by an adult at all times. Remember, you are 100% responsible for the safety of the children using our jumping castles. Children must be supervised at all times by an adult.

Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles does offer supervised/manned service (usually applies for group and corporate hire) at the rate of $30 per hour.

Does Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles have Insurance/professional indemnity?

Although it is always best to avoid any mishaps, especially when children are concerned, Jolly Jacks Jumping Castles must by Australian law have professional indemnity insurance in order to cover any unfortunate accidents.

Beyond this, all our jumping castles are made from quality material, always fully tested, licensed & meet Australian safety regulations & standards.

 

Movie Pop Corn Machine

What do I need to know for hiring the movie pop corn machine?

Our traditional movie pop corn machine comes complete with its own trolley/cart (so you do not need a table), as well as all supplies needed to make 100 servings of pop corn, including oil, salt, butter flavour, corn kernels & original movie cartons. There are additional costs if you need extra servings.

All you need to provide is a 240 volt power outlet.

Is it easy to operate the pop corn machine?

The pop corn machine is very simple to operate. Of course our team will run through this on the day of delivery. The machine should only be operated by an adult.

Can we order extra pop corn servings after it has been delivered and set up?

This very much depends on location of delivery, but unfortunately, in most instances it will be a NO.

Once we deliver the pop corn machine, it will come with exactly how many pop corn servings was specified during the booking. If however we are located close by, there is a slight chance we might be able to accommodate. However this is never guaranteed.

Do I need to clean the pop corn machine?

NO. No cleaning is required.

Actually it is very important that you do not clean the pop corn machine, as this must be done properly by one of our team. Jolly Jacks will pick up the pop corn machine, clean it and prepare it for re-hiring.

How long can I hire a movie pop corn machine for?

Jolly Jacks Jumping Castle’s traditional movie pop corn machine may be hired for as long as it’s needed. Just like the jumping castles, special discounted prices are available for long term and weekday hire.

However, there is only one flat rental rate of pop corn machines; based on a per day booking.

Fairy Floss Machine

Is it easy to operate the fairy floss machine?

The fairy floss machine is very simple to operate, and actually lots of fun to spin. Of course our team will run through this on the day of delivery. The machine should only be operated by an adult and as instructed.

Can we order extra fairy floss servings after it has been delivered and set up?

This very much depends on location of delivery, but unfortunately, in most instances it will be a NO.

Once we deliver the fairy floss machine, it will come with exactly how many fairy floss servings were specified during the booking process. If however you are located close by, there is a slight chance we might be able to accommodate and deliver extra amounts. However this is never guaranteed.

What do I need to know for hiring the fairy floss machine?

Our fairy floss machine comes complete with its own trolley/cart (so you do not need a table), cover dome, as well as all ingredients necessary to make 100 servings of fairy floss, including holdings sticks. There are additional costs if you need extra servings. Fairy floss comes in a variety of colours and flavours.

All you need to provide is a 240 volt power outlet

Do I need to clean the fairy floss machine?

NO. No cleaning is required.

Actually it is very important that you do not clean the fairy floss machine, as this must be done properly by one of our team. Jolly Jacks will pick up the fairy floss machine, clean it and prepare it for re-hiring.

How long can I hire a fairy floss machine for?
